Change o' Plans

"Avoiding The Blow" by Fei

First and foremost, I just realized that this site is NEVER going to become big on the internet, and quite honestly I don't care. I mean, nobody writes a blog hoping to become a huge e-star anyway, and if they do they're stupid unless they have something people care about to write.

So basically, this blog is now a one-man operation. Fei, Myrrh, Forrest, call me whatever you want, but this site is going to showcase MY artwork and whatever random ramblings I happen to want to talk about. Plain and simple, no strings attached.

News! My deviantart page has reached ten thousand pageviews after two short years. Oh good Lord, people are looking at my artwork!

It's been a real journey. For all it's quirks, deviantart has helped me grow up from middle school into high school, and my art skills have improved considerably in these past few years. It really makes me think about my life when someone contacts me through deviantart and says they want to use something I created from scratch on their own website.

I produce artwork regardless of if people like it or not. Art is an extension of my ever-flowing mind. Creating is something I do every second of every day. I'm constantly writing novels in my mind, but only a lucky few chapters make it onto paper, to be stored away when life gets too busy for me to keep them going. Hopefully that changes.

I learned, for some strange reason, that the Incredible Hulk's real name is Bruce Banner. I had no idea. I guess you learn something new every day.

About the Blog

'Blue Magic' By Fei.

So, looks like it's time for us to explain just what this site's about.

First of all, this is an art site. We here at The Black Bar are attempting to unite artists from the world over in order to create a community of blogs, chatrooms, and personal websites where artists can meet, plan events, and provide critique for each other.

As of now, our "team", as we call them, consists of three important people:
1) Fei, or Myrrh, is the master of the official website.
2) Hannah is the "Manager of Affairs"
3) Gracie is the deviantART ambassador and manager of all chatrooms from present to future.

News:

1)Currently, we are in desperate need of affiliations! If you're interested...
a) Go to golden-fire.deviantart.com and send Grace a note to become a deviantART affiliate.
b) Email either Fei or Hannah.
Fei: myrrhlake@hotmail.com
Hannah: youstolemyrobot@hotmail.com

Thanks in advance!
--
2)Gracie is looking into affiliating us with deviantARTists and their respective sites, as well as dAmn chatrooms, in order to get more people interested in this community we're trying to create.
--
3)Hannah is...well, we aren't quite sure. She doesn't really have much to do yet, since there really aren't any events or anything to plan.
--
4)Fei is typing this right now. >_>

That's all for now. Make sure to visit the official dAmn chatroom.

Ask the Ocean, Man.

Sometimes you go places, do fun things, and leave feeling refreshed and wishing you could spend more time away from the daily grind.

Sometimes, but this past weekend wasn't like that.

Not only did I get sick because someone forgot to mention that it was gonna get below freezing when I slept outside, but the coast is boring. Beautiful from an artistic standpoint, and possibly fun if you're a surfer or fishing turns you on...but I spent most of my time sketching because lord knows there was NOTHING to do.

Well, I suppose I'm being obnoxious. It wasn't as bad as you might think...but it still sucked. I took a long, tiring hike up a hill right by the coastline, which provided a nice view, but since there weren't any places to sit, I leaned on a fence post for close to an hour.

It was a wierd experience, because although my head was pretty fuzzy and my nose was running, my brain started thinking in, like, typewritten sentences. Long strings of pretty much random words entered and left my head without really leaving an impact on me at all except for that, as I hiked back down, I was pretty dazed. It was definitely strange.

It was interesting to stumble upon campers right next to the coast, I wasn't expecting that at all. I was walking around in the woods admiring the green bark of the trees (yeah, the climate was different over there) when I peeked over a crest and saw three dudes chillin' with some Bud Light and hittin' some bongos with no particular rhythm in mind. I sat with them for a while - we had an intense-but-not-very-deep talk about absolutely nothing. The basics: where're you from, etc.

Why are you camping out here? It's illegal.

Dude, I have no idea. Ask the ocean, man.

So, after saying goodbye, I went and found a place to climb up to that nobody else apparently had the guts to scale and talked to the ocean.

I'm kidding. I sat there, envied the seagulls and their wings and ability of flight, then climbed down and found my parents.

My dad and I also went to the public pool at our waterfront condo-place. It was packed...packed full of hot chicks and a few black dudes who apparently didn't enjoy getting wet. I had fun watching the dudes get splashed by their hot female friends, then went and sat in the sauna for no reason and had a chat with a little kid who liked cookies.

Hi, how're you?

Good, I like cookies, don't you?

Um...yes, I do.

Then I left. The kid was still staring off into space with his mouth open a little and drooling in the sauna when I passed by like an hour later. I didn't blame him, it was a boring place.

So anyway, I've got a splitting headache and I feel like drawing with my tablet for a while or something...or maybe I'll go take a nap.

Next time we go to the coast, I'll invite a friend so we can be bored together. Or maybe I'll tell my parents that I've gotta stay home for some reason, they'll understand.

Cheers to those drunk dudes on the beach though. You rule.
